Imagine reaching the top of the highest mountain in Africa. What’s the first thing you’d want to do? Take a selfie and share it with your friends back home, of course!

People who climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania will soon be able to do just that. Officials in the East African nation are making high-speed internet service available on the 19,341-foot-tall peak.

In addition to enabling people to post on social media, Wi-Fi will make climbing Kilimanjaro safer. Hikers and guides will be able to use apps on their phones to help navigate the mountain. They’ll also be able to call for help more easily in an emergency.

Once Kilimanjaro’s summit, or highest point, goes online, it will hold the world record for highest internet access. Mount Everest, the world’s tallest peak, has had Wi-Fi since 2013. But service reaches only as far as a base camp at 17,600 feet.
